Wireless Sensor & Actuator Network for indoor environmental Monitoring and Controlling – 2012/2014 – 24 months.

Project team: Politecnico di Torino – DENER; Onleco S.r.l.; Capetti Elettronica S.r.l.; C-Labs S.r.l.; Giacomini S.p.A.

The project aims to develop an integrated system for environmental monitoring and regulation of air conditioning systems that combines the flexibility and precision of wireless monitoring with the precise regulation capabilities performed at each individual terminal. In the context of energy saving in construction, we are witnessing the spread of “energy service” contracts and individual heat metering systems with the main objective of reducing consumption. To ensure that the energy-saving goal does not compromise occupants’ well-being, continuous monitoring of indoor temperature comfort is necessary for controlling performance levels and allowing users to act with local regulation systems in each room (on a single heating terminal). Wireless technology helps reduce costs and installation difficulties associated with regulation systems, particularly in interventions on existing buildings.
